EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) Michigan State's subdued approach to signing day seemed appropriate for a program that has remained a bit under the radar despite two Big Ten championships in the past three seasons.
While rival Michigan introduced its class at a celebratory event in Ann Arbor - with Tom Brady and Derek Jeter in attendance - the Spartans held a regular news conference with coach Mark Dantonio quietly going through the list of recruits.
The recruiting rankings indicate this should be one of Dantonio's best classes at Michigan State. The Spartans landed Donnie Corley of Detroit's Martin Luther King High School, who was the AP Player of the Year for Division I-2 in Michigan. Dantonio said the 6-foot-3 Corley can play on both sides of the ball.
