Ferrell received a positive medical report and returned to the clubhouse on Tuesday, one day after being struck in the head by a line drive.

Analysis: Ferrell got hit on the right side of his skull by a comebacker off the bat of Oakland Athletics designated hitter Ryon Healy during the eighth inning. He was immediately helped off the field and taken to a nearby hospital, where he underwent a CT scan. The test came back negative for any skull fracture, and he did not require an overnight stay.

The Yankees have moved Severino's next start up to Wednesday, where he'll face the Twins in a finale of a three-game series.

Analysis: Yankees manager Joe Girardi had at first opted to have Severino start Friday at Toronto on a full week of rest, but changed his mind in order to give his new ace three starts before the regular season concludes as the team tries to catch the Red Sox in the AL East. It was initially believed Girardi was holding the right-hander out of the Minnesota series with the Twins a potential opponent for New York in the wild card game.

Analysis: Murphy was a late scratch and could miss only one game.

Analysis: He was used as a pinch hitter Monday, his only plate appearance since last Wednesday.

Analysis: Stanton came into the game batting .147 in his previous 19 games. He has been rested and held out of the starting lineup three times in the past 10 games, including Sunday, when he asked to sit out. His homer ended a drought of 29 at-bats without one. He has hit seven home runs in his last 12 games against the Mets, and is 3 for 6 with a home run and a double against Seth Lugo, Tuesday's scheduled starter.

Analysis: In four starts since returning from a right shoulder injury that sidelined him for 2 1/2 months, the right-hander has an ERA of 13.19 while allowing 32 hits in 14.1 innings. Manager Terry Collins said the biggest problem is that Harvey's slider has been ineffective. He next takes the ball Sunday against the Nationals.
